Moleskine Notes by James Whatley

There is so much information to capture and keep track of on a daily basis. Where do you keep your notes?

If you use paper, which strategy do you use? Do you keep your notes in various places on postits and odd scraps of paper, or do you keep them all together in a notebook or legal pad? Let us know in the comments if you prefer a specific type of pen or notebook.

If you use software, tell us more. Do you use text files, an app like Evernote or Springpad, or something else? And which device do you normally use? Your computer, or something more portable?

Do you use a combination of these, or have a cool technique or strategy you’d like to tell us about? We’d love to hear about it. Let us know in the comments.

Winodws7′s Sticky Notes are enough for all the temporary information. And it’s paperless :)

Well, mostly for web design and development i do a flowchart starting with the main page and then all the other pages separately. Then i transition it from paper to code and a working template. Flow charts are awesome. I also write down colors, fonts, font sizes and so on each chart so this way i remember the next day.

    That’s it.

    Cheers

I track project-related notes in Notebook by Circus Ponies along with paper as needed. Paper is my choice for layout or design mockups – it’s just faster and easier to capture my thoughts that way. For task notes and reminders, I use OmniFocus by OmniGroup on my Mac, iPhone and iPad. For casual notes, I use the Notepad app on the iPhone or iPad, and text files on the Mac.

For the structure of the site i prefer Mindmeister (A mindmap web app) instead. It’s faster than create single pages, and it’s easy to see all the site.

ColorNote Notepad Notes APP on my Android mobilephone works just fine :-)

Awesome Notes app! It’s very easy to use, you can keep photos, maps, texts, to-dos, quicky notes… All in different files, wich are totally customized with different colors and icons. You can tag your notes to use search feature also. It’s…uh… awesome!!

For iPad users, one word: Notability

Simply incredible for note-taking. Using a stylus, it is as easy as taking notes on paper, and allows audio recording (synced with the notetaking for later review!) and immediate emailing of a PDF of the notes and audio to anyone.

I should get some kind of commission for the number of people I tell about this app. It is my NUMBER ONE recommended app for iPad users. Couldn’t do business without it – or I at least wouldn’t want to!

    For my to-do list, I use http://todo.ly

When I’m not on my home computer and I come across an interesting link, I save it with http://gethopper.com

All my other notes, thoughts, schemes, things to investigate … I use Excel workbooks and sheets, all sorted by subject
And offcourse, these Excel files are automatically synchronized in my Dropbox, so I can access them anywhere.
