If you’re into Flash development – and Flash gaming in particular – then you’re probably already familiar with the Mochi Media community. Well, it’s almost time for their yearly event.
Mochi London is a two-day event held at King’s College on 27-28 August with a focus on Flash gaming.
Mochi community members Ernesto Quezada (Games-Garden) and Chris Jeffrey (ChrisJeff) have teamed up to bring you Mochi London 2011. With support from Mochi Media, this 2-day event for Flash games community members promises to be bigger & better than ever before!
The first day includes presentations by Adobe and Mochi Media. Day 2 will be a low-key pub meet-up as it has been in the past. Come ready to share your stories, tips, tricks and beer.

Nerd Radio—who used to be called RIARadio—are great guys that Envato recently partnered with. They’re all about improving the community through open discussion.
They recently spent a week at Flash and the City. They spent their time producing an amazing series of live podcasts, including interviews with Flash developers, Adobe evangelists, book writers, and the organizer of Flash in the City.

Flash & Flex Developer’s Magazine is a great, free resource for… well, Flash and Flex developers. This month’s issue has just come out, and includes an article by our own Lance Snider.
Lance’s article is particularly relevant to our marketplaces, especially ActiveDen. It is called “Should Stock Assets be Used in Custom Work?” and in it Lance points out that using stock can speed up and improve your freelance work.

Michael James Williams is the technical editor for Activetuts+. He is a freelance Flash developer. And he is also a published author.
Michael’s book Facebook Graph API Development with Flash came out several months ago, and I’ve been meaning to mention it here ever since. On his blog, I Help People Make Flash Games, he briefly describes what it was like to write the book, and what the book is about:
Early last year, I signed a book deal with Packt Publishing. I spent most of 2010 working on it, and it’s finally finished, published, and on the shelves.
The book is a beginner’s guide to creating Flash Facebook applications and games. That includes apps like Graffiti and games FarmVille, which are designed to be played entirely within Facebook, as well Flash projects hosted outside Facebook that tap in to the user’s Facebook profile and friends list to give a more personalised experience.
This Friday and Saturday (the 8th and 9th) one of the world’s largest Flash conferences, Flash Camp Brazil, is taking place in beautiful Maceió, Brazil. With 500 attendees, 4 workshops, and 15 lectures from top industry professionals, it’s going to be legendary!

Hello community members and blog readers. A new series has made its way to the envato blog. I am one of its authors, Aw_Shucks and I’m an active member of the Envato community, based primarily at ActiveDen. My counterpart, BigZ who is also an ActiveDen author, will be working with me in order to produce this new series. What will this new series be about, you may ask? Well, in short our series will be about interactive sites around the web that BigZ and I will be reviewing. The point of the series is to bring to your attention current trends and innovative concepts of interactive websites and that we hope to inspire you to make a move towards making better files.
The first entry of our series is a sort of “test type”, which is usually the next stage of development after that of the prototype. (The first stage was planning. Then the “prototype” came by creating a working presentation ). But I’m sure that we’ll be changing a few things so as to improve the quality and message of our posts. So be ready to see something a little different and better as we post more throughout the series. With this in mind we introduce our first entry in the envato blog. We hope you like it.
