Activetuts+ launched in 2009 with the aim of teaching how to build websites, apps, animations, and interfaces in Flash. Much has changed in the industry over the past few years, and Activetuts+ has evolved several times to continue teaching relevant content.

At the end of last week, we announced our decision to draw Activetuts+ to a close in order to concentrate our focus on better covering several exciting new areas of education.

Over at Activetuts+ we’ve explained our thinking behind the decision, what we’ll be doing with our archive of content, and our plans for the future!

As much as this is sad, I do feel it was only a matter of time before a new technology replaced flash. It has had it’s run and it’s time for change, in the form of HTML. as an idea I’d love to see a new tuts+ based on html5, css3 and javascript (separate than net tuts) dedicated to building flash objects in HTML5 (basically, doing what flash did but now in HTML5). Maybe that’s what you have planned, but whatever the writers, authors and community do, I wish you good luck for the future and thanks for all the content you provided.

    Cheers guys.
