Criticism and rejection are difficult to deal with in a constructive way. At Envato, authors deal with reviewer rejection and peer criticism about their projects on a daily basis. How do these talented authors bear so much rejection?

Some don’t. These authors don’t consider constructive feedback from reviewers or their peers important. They are the type of people who don’t deal with criticism well.

The authors who do take time to reflect on the feedback they are given, are (in my opinion) those most likely to succeed. By working hard to improve upon issues that reviewers and peers have mentioned. These authors are able to produce items that are not only better and learn important skills in the process.

This week, take the excellent advice of Dudley Field Malone who said:

“I have never in my life learned anything from any man who agreed with me.”

Old Malone is simply saying, you will learn more from rejections than you ever will from praise. So make sure you put that knowledge into practice!

“I have never in my life learned anything from any man who agreed with me.”

This phrase is awesome and 100% true

I agree with it. Rejections are bad in the first moment but after you are angry, you can improve you skills and learn new things that help you on the way to become a great developer.

This is so true i show my designs to friends and family to see there reaction and then ask for feedback and take it on board. I rather have harsh feedback then to think my designs good when its not.
