Jess gave you a sneak peek earlier in the month, but now the wait is over—single sign-on has been activated this afternoon, 25/02/13 1:00PM AEDT.
If you didn’t catch the recent Notes post, here’s the news in a nutshell: We’re moving to a centralized system for sign-in and account management, starting with the Marketplaces. This single sign-on will then be extended to other Envato services like Microlancer, announced by Collis last week. It’ll be fewer usernames, passwords and sign-in boxes, and a step towards uniting our Envato sites and services!
What’s the difference?
First things first, your accounts haven’t changed. You’re still able to log in with the same username and password combination as before, on all of the Envato Marketplaces. It just looks a bit different. Our other networks and sites currently still have separate account systems, and the sign-in process there hasn’t changed.
This morning everyone has been logged out of the Marketplaces. We do try to minimise this kind of frustrating interference with your routine, but in this case there’s no easy way around it. When you go to sign in on the Marketplaces you’ll be redirected to the Envato Account Center. Enter your Marketplace credentials and you will then be redirected back to the site you came from. If you want to create a new Envato Account, update your details or recover a lost password or username, you’ll do that through the same external site.
The Marketplaces have new links for updating account settings that direct you to the Account Center when you need it.
What does it look like?
Because it’s a bit different to how the sign-in process used to work, we got Josh from Support to record a screencast taking you through the new Account Center. Take it away, Josh!
While we were here…
We also took this opportunity to add some much-needed improvements, such as:
- Secure login over SSL
- Improved cross-site sign-in — if you’re signed in to ThemeForest, you’re also signed into the other Marketplaces
- Cross-site sign-out — if you sign out of ThemeForest, you’re also signed out of the other Marketplaces
These kinds of structural changes benefit everyone and are really important as Envato and the Marketplaces continue to grow.
Don’t Panic.
While we don’t expect there to be too many issues, we are aware there may be some things that need attention so we will be watching closely for anything that might come up. We have a forum thread active here where updates will be visible. Please check this thread if you are having any issues as we may already know about it and be working on a fix.
Obviously, if you can’t log in you won’t be able to post on the forums. In that case, open a Support Ticket. Make sure you select the ‘Envato Account’ option on the form as we will be keeping a close eye on that queue. Please explain as clearly as you can the issue you are having and what you were trying to do when the problem occurred (we’d love it if you could include URLs, screenshots and step by step explanations too).
That’s all, folks!

“Secure login over SSL”
Awesome! That’s nice to have with the proliferation of public wifi.
Well done on the refactoring, love to read more about the technical issues you encountered during the project.
That’s exactly what I was thinking!
This is a Great Job .. Thank you Guys .
Indeed, nice move
Great idea!!! I have my login & password and put this info on my LastPass.
Envato Rules!!!
Was looking forward to this. Awesome!
Nice!
Great idea, loving it so far.
I am just curious if we still have to enter the captcha every time we log in like before.
totally agree. it’s a nicer process but the captcha seems smaller now… not a huge issue – just have to squint a bit or hit refresh a couple times
Nice. Great work.
Very good idea. It should have been implemented earlier. Still its not too late. Nice decision.
Really nice and works very well.
Good Job!
Great! This makes things much simpler. Also, great way to enhance user experience, nice job Envato!

I’m having trouble using this. It’s coming across un-styled like the style sheet is missing or something and it won’t let me sign-in. If I could attach a picture I would show you what I’m seeing. I would post this on the forum but I can’t sign on! Please help!
Hi Lauren,
Please email us at Envato support and well do our best to help you. We’ve been working on resolving many of the issues already noted, but if this is still happening please let us know.
Carmen ( Envato Staff)
I have waited for this news for quite longer and Envato finally did it. Now we no need to login again for the Envato marketplace. Affiliate ,seller or buyer ,hopefully it will helps a lot.
Always good when you guys bring something new to the table….what’s next?
I am unable to log in. It looks like the login is broken I have tried 3 different computers, 23 different browsers. The page does not look pretty, plain text and links. Nothing happens when I press the Sign In button. page just sits there.
Make that “3″ browsers (IE, Chrome, Firefox). But all are broken!
Can’t login at all? Tried FF, IE and chrome, on window 8 and ipad
Is this broken for anyone else?
This could be a very useful feature
Wonderful home.
keep up the good work.!
These are truly great news!
Thank you envato
Great news thanks for the update.
Now we are secure…
It’s awful and it doesn’t work. I couldn’t log in with my usual details and when I created an account using my usual details it set the account up.
Now all my money and purchases etc. are gone.
The system had a central login before only now it doesn’t work.
Hi Clubware! Sorry to hear you’re having some issues. You should definitely send in a support ticket, if you haven’t already. To do this, go to http://support.envato.com/index.php?/Tickets/Submit and fill in the form with as much detail as possible. Make sure you select the “Envato Account” option on the first question.
Neat!
This is a great!!
This Feature Is Useful!!
My login isn’t being accepted
it’s ok now
Yay, hopefully this means we don’t have to make seperate accounts for each marketplace.
Hooray!!!
Awesome! Keep up the great work…..love this group of sites!!!!!
Thank you envato
Love it,
Thanks guys.
For Android users.
In browser settings (Dolphin) switch the Flash to “always on” and turn off Java. It worked.
Then revert these back.
was this notice from last year?
Jess gave you a sneak peek earlier in the month, but now the wait is over—single sign-on has been activated this afternoon, 25/02/12 1:00PM AEDT.
Lol. You’d think that by late February we’d be getting the year right! Well, you’re the first to notice, so we’re not alone.
Thanks for pointing that out, Jones. It’s fixed now.
Oh no! That’s my mistake, I wrote the date in. I must be living in the past…
You’re too young to be living in the past, Jess. Wait until you’re my age.
É interessante ;
Thanks : )
Bom trabalho!
At least that captcha nightmare is over finally. Wow you guys have the WORST track record when it comes to making things user friendly… this would be good except my browser won’t remember my password — EPIC FAIL you guys. Hypersensitivity when it comes to security measures may please 1% but the other 99% suffer. C’mon now – do better.
brilliant thanks
Good job guys.
Thank you envato,
Great idea, loving it so far.
I am logged in at Codecanyon and open a new tab in the new Firefox 19 (WIN 7 prof., desktop) going to Themeforest and I am NOT logged in :-/
Cookies are allowed in my Firefox – but this common login does not work for me here.
Hi Chris, we are looking into all the issues that have been noted. If this persists please contact us with the details at Envato Support.
Thank you,
Carmen (Envato Staff)
my two logins doesnt seem to work. i tried a couple of times
Great job, thank you Envato
What happened to my download history? Everything I previously downloaded is gone.
Sorry to hear that! Could you send us a support ticket with some more details? I’m sure we’ll get to the bottom of it. http://support.envato.com/index.php?/Tickets/Submit
Good News
Very good Nice decision.
Great job:)
it doesn’t work.
can’t open a new account and receive no activation email.
Hi Julian,
We are working on fixing some issues, would you be able to send us a ticket with more details?
http://support.envato.com/index.php?/Tickets/Submit
Thank you,
Carmen (Envato Staff)
Hi, I’m also not receiving any activation email – and I’ve tried with several email accounts.
I have repported this through the supportcenter, and have following ticket ID:
IKV-741-76392
Any way I can purchase a template without the activation email?
Regards Jacob
Hi Jacob. That’s strange. You’ve done the right thing by contacting support. The best thing to do is wait for their response.
- So finnaly, I made an account through an iPad, an using a new Gmail – and Voila!
Strange though, that no activation mail where send to any of the other (Exhange mails)?
Anyway, My problem solved for now. Thank you..
Jacob
Thanks for letting us know, Jacob. It’s great to hear it worked out.
