Within the last month, we’ve launched a new subcategory under each root category on CodeCanyon, called “Add-Ons.” The beautiful thing about this new category is that it allows authors to create “ecosystems” for their items, by letting their peers create and sell add-ons for their items. Imagine what WordPress would be like without its plugin repository! You can now do the same for your items.
Let’s be honest; not all of us are designers. Even worse, when some items are entirely code based (or something similar), it can be difficult to determine what to put in your item’s 80px thumbnail and 590px item page image.
If this happens to be the case for you, we’ve created some templates for you to use with each new submission. Simply download the PSD, substitute your item’s text, and save. You’re done!

Not long ago, ActiveDen manager, Lance Snider, posted an excellent article on double-dipping. If you didn’t read it, the essential idea is that, with a bit of work, you can submit slightly modified versions of an item to multiple categories. An excellent example of this concept in practices comes from author, dtbaker.
