New Job Opening: Crafttuts+ Editor

Update: Applications for the position are closing on Friday 24th August, 2012.

We’re always looking to expand into new areas with the Tuts+ network — just last month, we’ve launched both Mactuts+ and Gamedevtuts+ — and we have some really exciting sites planned for the rest of the year as well!

Most of the skills we teach at present are computer-based. Photoshop, web development, WordPress, After Effects — all of these are fairly “high tech” sites. With our next project, we’re going to be teaching something slightly different: Craft!

Crafttuts+ will be launching soon, and we’re currently looking for an editor for the site. Read on to find out about the job requirements, and decide whether you’d like to apply!

Last week, the half of the editor team based in the US met for a few days in New York — we worked together, discussed the future direction of Tuts+, saw some of the city, and had the opportunity to meet our amazing readers during the community night!

Activetuts+ launched in 2009 with the aim of teaching how to build websites, apps, animations, and interfaces in Flash. Much has changed in the industry over the past few years, and Activetuts+ has evolved several times to continue teaching relevant content.

At the end of last week, we announced our decision to draw Activetuts+ to a close in order to concentrate our focus on better covering several exciting new areas of education.

Over at Activetuts+ we’ve explained our thinking behind the decision, what we’ll be doing with our archive of content, and our plans for the future!
