AudioJungle authors have a new feature to get excited about. We are proud to announce cover art for AudioJungle! This means that each audio track you upload can have an individual cover art thumbnail, instead of having the same profile image for all of your tracks. We think this is awesome and want you to get creative. Embrace the cover art image and personalise your tracks! The image must be 80X80 pixel and please remember to be aware of the assets you use. When you see KingDog waxing lyrical on the forums – or getting a little hot under the collar – where do you picture him to be in real life? Well, wonder no more. He’s wandering through fields of wheat like Russell Crowe in Gladiator. I bet he’s even playing the soundtrack to add to the atmosphere.

Collis recently posted a useful article about copyright and how it affects authors, with a particular focus on stock photos. If you missed it, you can read it here: Use of Assets in Previews on Envato Marketplaces. It is important to use properly licensed images in your previews.

The article may have you wondering where to find appropriate images. While you can find great stock photos on any number of sites around the Internet, GraphicRiver Reviewer Patrik Larsson has put together a useful collection of images from PhotoDune.

Use of Assets in Previews on Envato Marketplaces

Over the last few days there has been some discussion about items being sold on GraphicRiver and ThemeForest that include apparently unlicensed images from film, television and of celebrities. Specifically discussion about these images being used in preview files.

As you know, any images or other assets you use in your items for sale on all the Envato Marketplaces, must be properly licensed for such usage. This includes usage in item previews on GraphicRiver and ThemeForest – including screenshots and live previews hosted on external servers.

Important: Read This Article

I’d like to encourage every author to read this article on what to consider when including assets that are not your own (third party assets), when creating an item for sale: What Images, Videos, Illustrations or Music Can I Use in My Items?

Sonora: For When iTunes Is OverkillSonora: For When iTunes Is Overkill

I love iTunes. As Apple’s native music player and iOS powerhouse command station, it is unlikely that anything will ever wholly replace iTunes for me. It’s an integrated hub for surfing the iTunes music store, buying iOS apps, making playlists, the Ping network (even though it’s somewhat barren), managing the media and content on my iPhone and iPad, and more. But in spite of my love for iTunes, I will be the first to admit that with a music library the size of mine, it can be a bit slow, unwieldy, and bloated when all I want to do is play some tunes.
