Today we meet RobGD from AudioJungle.

Tell us a bit about yourself. Where are you from, what do you do for a living?

I’m originally from Carbondale, PA and have moved around the country a little bit. I’ve been in Richmond, VA for the past four and a half years. I have a few bits of school to include a recording arts and sciences degree from Omega Studios in Rockville MD, and an MCSA in MS Windows desktops and servers along with some other odds and ends. I currently take care of a cluster of radio stations here and no I don’t do the websites. ;) I run a little local web startup on the side in which I have a few web sites and stores running on my server so far.

Meet the Staff: Naysan Naraqi

2011

Every week we’ll introduce you to an Envato staff member or team. This week we meet Naysan Naraqi, manager of Rockable Press.

What is it like working for Envato, and what are some of the jobs you’ve had with us?

Working with Envato is great! Everyone’s really friendly and positive, and Collis’ ideals and his passion for education make it very rewarding as well.

It’s also been a really good learning opportunity and experience for me personally, as my background was mainly in video production and television journalism, and I had very little exposure to the online and publishing world. But it’s been great, and I’m really enjoying it.

For about six months I was juggling both Rockable and marketing for the Envato Marketplaces (oh, and trying to find an office for Envato to move in to as well), and though that was pretty cool, I always felt like I was ‘dropping the ball’, and as a result certain aspects of each job were suffering. Though I have been working on some other pretty cool ‘top secret’ pilot projects for Envato, thankfully my main focus now is to build Rockable Press up to become an awesome publisher for media professionals and online creatives.

The 3DOcean Celebrity Face Challenge Has Begun!!!

by posted in Competitions
Jan 24
2011

Have you ever wondered if there was more to life, other then being really, really, ridiculously good looking? (quote from Zoolander).

The Brief

The task of this competition is straight forward: Create a bust sculpt of your very own, personal, virtual star! Think about what makes a celebrity so appealing on screen and try to capture a charismatic personality in a digital sculpt.

The winners will be judged by the quality of the final result, the overall scope of work and attention to detail, the skill level displayed in the WIP documentation, presentation and the star appeal of your celebrity creation. Be sure not to copy a particular person exactly or use their names so you won’t get into trouble with angry Hollywood agents!

For those who are new to the site, Envato only recently expanded into the realm of 3D and with the “Celebrity Face Challenge” we are aiming to get 3DOcean started on growing a comprehensive resource for CG artists in the fields of cinematography and gaming!

Time Frame

The competition starts as of this moment and closes on the 24th of February 2011. Last submissions will be accepted until 6pm GMT + 0:00.

One word describes my week – “sweaty”. It’s been hot and humid. My home office is in a small room without an air conditioner, so this week I took a page out of Grant Friedman’s work style – working on my laptop on the lounge next to the air conditioner.

Motion Graphic Quality Standards Have Been Raised, A LOT!

by posted in General, News

The time has come again to raise the bar in terms of quality within VideoHive’s largest section. Motion Graphics was the section that started it all. Once residing on FlashDen, the small section grew into a large section, which then became VideoHive. We feel the section has grown to contain the full range of possible file types, and now that we’ve reached this point it’s time to shift gears and focus on quality.
